Manama: Jan. 19 – (BNA): The leader of the Bahraini Artic Team, Faraj Al-Qassimi, hailed HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, lauding His Majesty’s announcement of creation of Space Science Agency intended to usher the Kingdom of Bahrain into a new phase in order to avail from outer space, satisfy Bahrain’s development needs and yield benefits in various fields.

Al-Qassimi said that it was high time now that the Kingdom pays attention to space sciences which attract now major companies operating in various fields, including telecommunications and transportation which directly affects the attracting of international conferences and functions pertaining to outer space.

He expressed his utmost delight that the Polar Team’s dream could be achieved in the establishment of a Bahraini Space Science Agency, benefiting from Arab and overseas energies in this field, pointing out that the geographic location of Bahrain in the heart of the old world makes it a perfect location to establish any futuristic space station.

He added that the Bahrain Artic Team will provide in the foreseeable future all projects and plans the team had worked on in the previous period in order to benefit from them in this national initiative in order to serve the goals announced by His Majesty the King because outer space is a filed in which several countries compete in order to benefit from it in implementing various applications which better serve humankind.

Al-Qassimi praised His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King also the Chairman of the High Organizing Committee of the Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS), lauding His Highness’s contributions in this field and his support to the Team’s programmes and plans aimed to place the Kingdom of Bahrain’s name in the list of space science countries.
