Hotel group reveals BD50m expansion

MANAMA: Gulf Hotels Group is expanding beyond the shores of Bahrain and plans to set up two five-star hotels in Dubai.

Chairman Farouk Almoayyed told the GDN on the sidelines of its Annual General Meeting yesterday that an investment of BD50 million is being made for the development of the five-star ‘Gulf Hotel Business Bay’.

“This waterfront property, located 1.5km from Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, is now in design stage and is expected to open mid-2017,” he said.

The group is also in discussion with investors to buy a plot in the new Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid City in Dubai for the development of another five-star hotel in the area.
