HRH Crown Prince attends opening session of 25th Arab Summit

Kuwait, Mar. 25. (BNA) — His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, attended here today opening session of the 25th Arab league Summit on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.


His Royal Highness highlighted that this year’s summit comes at a critical time when collaboration among Arab states is key to the social and economic development of the region. His Royal Highness further added that facilitating means of collaboration and coordination will help enable the Arab League to both tackle regional challenges and ensure the stability of the region.

His Royal Highness went on to note that this year’s summit reflects Kuwait’s pivotal role in the promotion and consolidation of cooperation and solidarity among Arab states, and also emphasised that Bahrain’s participation underscores its commitment to strengthening coordination and collaboration across the region.

His Royal Highness added that this year’s summit presents a significant opportunity for member states to discuss important developments across the region with a particular focus on security and political challenges. In this regard, His Royal Highness emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to maintaining prosperity and economic development across the region alongside its GCC neighbors and the wider Arab world.

His Royal Highness also emphasised that the Arab League’s decision to establish an Arab Court of Human Rights in Bahrain, an initiative launched by His Majesty King Hamad, demonstrates the Kingdom’s commitment to contribute to the development of the region and protect the rights of its people.

His Royal Highness further called on Arab states to join the Arab Stock Exchange currently being established in the Kingdom of Bahrain following the Arab League’s decision at the 2013 Summit.

His Royal Highness emphasised that the Arab Stock Exchange will serve as a business platform conducive to enhancing trade and economic ties across the Arab states.

The 25th Arab League Summit is held under the theme of “Solidarity for a Better Future” and includes an agenda finalised by ministers from across the Arab world. A key focus of this year’s summit will be on pressing issues facing the region which will be discussed by member states in closed workshops. The premier goal of this year’s summit is to coordinate efforts among Arab states and shed light on pressing issues that pose significant threats to the stability and safety of the region and undermine stable political and economic development.
