Manama, Aug. 7 (BNA): The Muharraq Club’s Board of Directors and affiliates have extended sincere congratulations to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa on obtaining the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Award.
In a cable to HRH Premier on behalf of the club’ officials and affiliates, the club’s Board of Directors Chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said the distinguished award was conferred on him in recognition of his crucial role in taking optimum advantage of information and communication technology in achieving sustainable development in the kingdom, as well as his efforts to develop Bahraini citizens.
He added that the global prize confirms anew the International Community’s appreciation of the Premier thanks to the milestone development, social, cultural and scientific achievements that entitled Bahrain to be placed among advanced countries.
The award was granted to HRH the Prime Minister as a result of his achievements to the Bahraini people regarding scientific progress, prosperity, security and stability, as well as policies of openness to countries of the world and keenness to enhance cooperation and exchange of expertise with them.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to protect HRH Premier for the best interests of Bahrain and its people.
