Manama, Oct. 23 (BNA)– His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received today a cable of thanks and appreciation from Head of the Executive Council of Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation Yaqoob Yussef Mohammed who expressed to him, on behalf of the Executive Council members, heartfelt gratitude for his keenness to achieve the aspirations of the workers in Bahrain and safeguard their rights.
The Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation lauded the meeting between HRH the Prime Minister and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, during which both leaders discussed labour issues. It emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to its international human rights obligations, pointing out the laws and regulations issued to protect the workers’ rights and ensure the most optimum and stable work environment.
The federation and its affiliates also commended the directives of HRH the Premier to put off signing the tripartite agreement regarding a complaint lodged by the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions with the International Labour Organisation against Bahrain.
They added that that asserts HRH the Prime Minister’s keenness to prevent any foreign intervention in the kingdom’s sovereign affair and achieve balance among all organisations representing the production sides.
The federation pledged to remain the bulwark of the nation against anyone who tries to mar the beautiful image of Bahrain and continue to defend the rights of the labour force.
