HRH Premier receives speaker

Manama, Aug. 26 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Speaker of the Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla.


HRH Premier reviewed with the Speaker the various aspects of the relations between the executive and legislative branches so as to achieve the goals set in the National Project spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

He stressed the need to take advantage of the solid relations between the government and the Council of Representatives to broaden areas of joint cooperation and understanding, as the best way to optimise national achievements that foster Bahrain’s leading position and increase the citizens’ gains.

HRH Premier highlighted the government’s keenness to translate understanding and cooperation with the Council of Representatives into the ground through its continuous directives to ministers to fully cooperate with the council so as to enable it to play its legislative and monitoring role in the best way.

HRH the Prime Minister affirmed his appreciation and that of the government of the tremendous efforts exerted by the Speaker and members of the Council of Representatives to assume their national roles, noting that the government and the Council of Representatives agree on the interests of the nation and the citizens, the essential pillars that enhance and broaden the scope of executive-legislature cooperation, he said.


The Speaker lauded the role played by HRH the Prime Minister in providing a suitable atmosphere that fosters cooperation between the two branches and putting in place all success requirements for parliamentary practices in the kingdom.

Al-Mulla extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Premier for his constant desire to expand the scope of government-parliament partnership which, he said, has made the legislative branch an effective partner in devising the citizen-oriented government policies and initiatives.
