Manama, January 22nd (BNA) –His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa received in his palace in Riffa today, the Board of Directors of the Tenders Board chaired by Minister of Housing, Bassim Bin Yacoob Al Hamar, where he presented for HRH the annual report of the Tenders Board 2011. Al-Hamar also briefed HRH with a presentation on the march of the Tenders Board, and the achievements accomplished by the Board on all levels.
During receiving the annual report of Bahrain’s Tender Board, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed that the government is proceeding in its initiatives that preserve the public money, consolidate transparency, reinforce fair competition, work hard for the interests of the people, and also embody that practically on all areas.
HRH the Premier said that the government is keen to protect the public money and enforce standards which ensure justice, equal opportunities, and strengthen integrity, competition and transparency in all procedures and operations. HRH pointed out that the government had established projects costing more than eight billion Bahraini Dinars, since the establishment of the Tenders Board, which falls within the framework of its keenness that the Bahraini citizen is provided with the best services, and also to create the best living conditions.
During the meeting, HRH the Prime Minister stressed that the Tenders Board is considered one of the bodies the government is counting on to raise the efficiency of the government’s spending, avoid additional expenditures, and activate the principle of accounting and preserving the public money in accordance with best approved practices.
HRH the Prime Minister directed for the continuity, development and improving the procedures of tenders, and not to delay the government’s projects, particularly those concerned with the issue of the citizen’s life.
HRH the Premier highlighted the keenness of the Tenders Board on following the principles of transparency, the applications of the provisions of the law organizing tenders, governmental purchases and sales, and the great role of the Board in achieving the highest levels of justice reflecting positively on the economic growth in the Kingdom.
After the meeting, Minister of Housing, the Chairman of the Tenders Board, Bassim Yacoob Al-and the members of the Board expressed their honor to refer the annual report of the tenders for 2011 to HRH the respected Prime Minister, expressing his thanks and appreciation for HRH’s support of the Board to enable it to achieve its aims. He also highlighted that he briefed HRH on the achievements accomplished by the Board during 2012, and the plans and programmes it intends to implement to develop the work mechanism, pointing out that HRH’s directives had the best impact on providing the highest levels to cope with the comprehensive development and civilized renaissance of Bahrain.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Tenders Board thanked HM the King, HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince for their support and directives.
