  • Gulf Air has moved its first airfreight shipment using an electronic airway bill. The inagural e-freight shipment, which traveled from Bahrain to Dubai, makes a significant milestone for the carrier, according to Gulf Air CEO Samer Majali. “We are hopeful of turning our Bahrain hub into a complete e-freight station by the middle of 2014 with support from Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority, Bahrain Airport Company, Bahrain Airport Services and freight forwarders in tune with IATA’s vision of achieving 100-percent e-freight by 2015,” he said in a statement.
  • DHL Express hauled a Sumatran tiger from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport to ZSL London Zoo on October 14. The successful transportation of the tiger, Jae-Jae, came less than one month after DHL Express flew Melati, a female tiger, from Perth, Australia to London.
