During the period Jan to August 2012, India imported 109034 MT of Bitumen. India imported most of its Bitumen from different countries like 78173 MT (72%) from UAE, 21412 MT (20%) from Iran, 4220 MT (4%) from Bahrain, 1548 MT (1%) from Kazakhstan, 1208 MT (1%) from Saudi Arabia, 1004 MT (1%) from USA, 670 MT (1%) from Kuwait, 598 MT (1%) from Qatar and 201 MT from Other Countries. During the period Jan to August 2012, India imported most of the quantity into Kolkata i.e. 30703 MT, which is almost 28% of the total imports in the month, 27515 MT (25%) into JNPT, 21625 MT (20%) into Karwar, 9824 MT (9%) into Mundra, 6913 MT (6%) from Tughlakabad, 4789 MT (4%) into Chennai, 3343 MT (3%) into Ludhiana, 1450 MT (1%) into Kandla, 1174 MT (1%) into Tuticorin, 567 MT (1%) into Jodhpur Thar and 1131 MT (1%) into Other ports.
