Indian Bank Opens Representative Office In Abu Dhabi

HDFC Bank has opened a representative office in Abu Dhabi to serve the Emirate’s non-resident Indian population, its second representative office in the UAE.

The new office will provide services such as help in opening non-resident external accounts in India, remittance services, fixed deposits in India and other related banking services for NRIs in Abu Dhabi.

The bank’s other UAE-based office is a wholesale offshore branch in Bahrain, which provides corporate, trade finance and advisory services to both corporates and ultra high net worth individuals. 

The bank has said it intends to continue to expand its offshore operations to meet the needs of the UAE’s NRI population.
