Information Minister meets UNESCO, French officials in Paris

Paris, Feb 6 (BNA) — Minister of State for Information Affairs and Official Spokesperson for theGovernment, Samira Ibrahim bin Rajab, today met the Director of North Africa and Middle East Department at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Pierre Giraud, as part of official visit to France.
The Minister reviewed the close relations between the two countries and the latest political developments in Bahrain, in light of HM the King’s call to resume the national dialogue sessions to reach a consensus that satisfies all parties.

Giraud expressed delight in meeting the Minister, wishing the Bahraini-French relations further success, particularly after he signed a joint cooperation agreement during his recent visit to Bahrain.

The minister paid a visit to the UNESCO headquarters where she discussed media cooperation with Getachew Engida, the UNESCO Deputy Director-General for Information and Communication. She was briefed on the programmes offered by UNESCO in cooperation with member countries.
The minister also met Patrizianna Sparacino-Thiellay, the French Ambassador at Large for Human Rights, and reviewed with her the recent political developments in Bahrain and the constitutional reforms that reinforce human rights and promote women’s rights in all areas.

The French ambassador hailed the progress made in Bahrain, mainly in the field of supporting women’s rights and expressed keen interest in bolstering cooperation and coordination between the two countries.
