Injaz Bahrain voluntary work lauded

Injaz Bahrain has succeeded in attracting thousands of students from all standards to its voluntary work programme.

“We have reached out to a record 16,800 students, including six universities and three private schools”, inJAz Bahrain executive director Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa said.

She said while addressing a ceremony held to celebrate inJaz Bahrain achievements for the academic year 2012-2013.

She took pride in the success of the project and its partners in reaching out to students and ensuring the success of the first programme.

Shaikha Hessa said that the 537 youngsters have so far volunteered to take part in the activities.

She commended the ministry of education and also extended thanks to Tamkeen, the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GIC), Banagas, Bapco, HSBC, Ithmar Banks and  Bahrain National Holding company for their cooperation.

Banagas chief executive officer Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said the project aimed at inspiring ambitious Bahraini youngsters.

inJAz Bahrain, a member nation of the worldwide organisation Junior Achievement, was established to provide young people with a business education so that they will have the knowledge and skills they need when seeking employment,” he added.

Bahraini children participate in Ukraine festival

Children of Bahrain have started preparing to participate in the 12th International Children Festival in Ukraine that will continue until August 5. Over 1,000 children from 65 countries will take part in the event.

Bahrain delegation consists of 10 children with the age group of 12-15.

The children will present folk dances wearing the national Bahraini outfits besides participating in music competitions, discussions, cultural, arts and sports activities.

This is the sixth year in a row of Bahraini childrens participation in the festival.

Besides the ongoing current festival, a group of Bahraini orphans earlier participated this summer along with orphans from 16 countries in a summer Camp in Ukraine.
