Interior Minister Inspects National Central Ambulance Project

Manama, Aug 7 (BNA) — Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa has paid an inspection visit to the National Central Ambulance Project that aims to enhance the ambulance services in Bahrain by forming centers that cover all districts.


Interior Minister, who was received by Chief of Public Security, Tariq Al Hassan, inspected the implementation phases of the project that expected to be completed within the next six months. He was briefed by Public Security Chief on the goals of the project that includes reconstruction and development of the ambulance services to transport patients in the fastest possible period of time by the formation of 14 centers at all governorates. The centers include paramedics, assistants and equipped ambulances vehicles in coordination with the main call center that stationed specialized doctors round the clock to receive and classify emergency calls to provide the required medical services.

Interior Minister highlighted that the project is an important one for swift response and it is a project that meet the international development in ambulance and safety field. He directed for the fast compilation of the project that meet the latest development in emergency medicine through training and cooperation with major emergency medicine centers in the world. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to those who are implementing the project. He also hailed cooperation of the Bahrain Defence Force and the Health Ministry that will contribute to the success of the project and the enhancement of security and safety levels in Bahrain.
