Manama, Dec 14 (BNA) — Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, today witnessed the parade marking Bahrain Police Day on December 14.
Interior Minister, upon arrival, was received by Major-General Tariq Al Hassan, inspected the parade and delivered the following speech:
I’m glad to meet you in this occasion, the Bahrain Police Day, that is marked on December 14. With pride and gratitude I’m honor to express best wishes and heartfelt greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the 43th National Day and 15th Accession Day. I express also my sincere gratitude and appreciation to the care provided to Bahrain police by the wise government that is chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
Brothers, as we are meeting today I’m glad to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to your sincere efforts in the protection of security and general order, while remembering the efforts of pioneers who serviced this ministry and were examples of honorable giving. We express our thanks and appreciation to them and wish happiness for those who are still alive and the dead for their souls to rest in peace. We pray for martyr policeman Ali Mohammed Ali Al Zuriqat and other martyrs to rest in peace. We strongly condemned acts that caused their death and we will not let go of our duties to chase those behind their death to be punished for their terrorisms.
Brothers, you are worth people’s respect as they appreciate your work and feel comfortable at your presence, as security is a big blessing and those protecting security are appreciated by all. At the beginning we faced a challenge of the turning point in the security performance under the democratic life, and we achieved success within unprecedented political activities at beginning of the reform project of HM the King. This was followed with ongoing security work that through it we achieved more competency and expertise. You have shown capability to face different incidents and situations for sticking to the righteous and the real closeness between the ministry’s personnel.
Brothers, the success of the parliamentary and municipal elections is a new phase of the winning of nationalism over the sectarianism and moderation over extremism. It was the national mirror that reflected the desire of citizens to achieve stability and we have endured a lot in order to achieve this general national demand.
Today we have the role of the protection of this major achievement and the national process under the leadership of HM the King. Law enforcement is an important mean to achieve national security against those who try to hinder the process under politics influenced by extremism and lawbreaking under freedom excuses.
Brothers, security work isn’t link to certain stance or period, but a continuous work with multiple challenges. This requires from us to continue upgrading the security approach by benefiting from our scientific expertise and technical and administrative development, in addition to promote trust and community partnership.
Bahrain Police have given major sacrifices in the past and now and by grade of God have the capability and dedication to face current and future challenges out of belief of the national duty.
Brother, your role is big in things that happened and are happening and you are always the men of situations. Kindly accept my thanks and appreciation for your sincerity and dedication of the security of the nation and citizens. May God protect you. Peace, mercy and blessings of God.
HE Interior Minister honored a number of officers and in-commissioned officers who completed 35 years in the service. They were provided with the security medal. A number of officers were honored also for obtaining doctorate degree as they were granted the distinguished work medal to encourage personnel to continue study for their higher education to meet development in the security work.
