Investcorp Said to Hire UniCredit for $487 Million CEME Sale

Investcorp Bank BSC, the Bahrain-based investment firm, is to sell pumpmaker CEME SpA in a deal
that may value the company at 350 million euros ($487 million),
said two people with knowledge of the situation.

Investcorp has hired investment bank UniCredit SpA (UCG) to
auction the Carugate, Italy-based company with information to be
sent to potential bidders later this month, said the people, who
asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to
speak publicly.

Investcorp bought CEME, which is best known in Italy for
making components for espresso machines, from Equistone Partners
Europe Ltd., then Barclays Private Equity, in 2008 for an
undisclosed sum.

An official for Investcorp declined to comment and
officials for CEME and UniCredit didn’t immediately respond to
telephone and e-mailed requests seeking comment.
