Isis: Bahrain, money mainly from Middle Eastern countries

(ANSAmed) – ROME, NOVEMBER 10 – “Financing of Isis
comes primarily from countries in the Middle East,” Sheikh
Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrein’s Foreign Minister said an
international conference for the fight against terrorism in
Manama, Baharain.

In an article in Middle East Online, the minister is cited
as recommending transparency by publicly naming those
contributing to financing and asked for charities to be
protected from abuse at the hands of militant groups and their
supporters.

The Gulf States have already initiated legal and
administrative proceedings against persons and organizations
that fund Islamic militants, in particular those fighting in
Iraq and Syria. (ANSAmed).
