Junior squad set for UAE friendly clash

BAHRAIN’s national junior football team have scheduled a friendly match with their counterparts from the UAE.

The tie will be held on September 17 during the team’s training camp in Dubai.

The Bahrainis will be camping at the Emirate from September 14 to 26.

Team manager Turki Abdulla said that the juniors will play a second friendly during their camp against a local club team. The opponents and the date of the exhibition game will be confirmed within the next few days, Abdulla said.

The juniors are currently gearing up for their participation in the qualifying tournament for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-19 Championship.

The qualifiers are to be held at different locations for each group. Bahrain are in group ‘E’, which is set to take place in Palestine. Also in their division are Syria and Oman.
