Khalid bin Hamad congratulates leadership on Asiad tally

Manama, Oct3(BNA) The President of Bahrain delegation to the 17th Asian Games Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on Bahrain’s success in winning 19 medals in Asiad 2014, which will conclude today in Incheon City in South Korea.

Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also congratulated His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.
Bahrain’s Asiad 2014 tally included 9 gold medals, 6 silver and 4 bronze. Bahrain Athletics team ranked second overall, while the handball won a historic bronze medal in the third place play off.
Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, also (SCYS)First Deputy Chairman, President of the West Asian Athletics Association, Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) Chief, yesterday returned home after leading Bahrain’s delegation to Asiad2014.
He also attended the 42-long marathon for men at Incheon International Stadium and followed the landmark performance of Bahraini athlete Hassan Mahboub who clinched the gold medal.
Present were Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Secretary-General Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, BOC board members Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa, Abdulhakim Al-Shenou, Dr. Khalid Al-Alawi and Ali Isa Ishaqi.
