Manama, Dec 22 (IANS/WAM) The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF) Sunday sponsored a mass wedding of 222 couples in Bahrain.

Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani, chairman of the Bahraini parliament, and Mohammed Haji Khouri, director general of the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, attended the wedding along with a number of officials.

Al-Dhahrani thanked the Khalifa Foundation for organising the event for the third time, saying it embodies the fraternal relations between Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

He also extended greetings to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of the UAE’s 42nd National Day, which coincides with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebrations of its own National Day, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern State of Bahrain.
