Kim Kardashian is hoping to educate herself on the Middle East during an upcoming promotional trip.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, who has been dating rapper Kanye West for eight months, is preparing to embark on a whirlwind trip to Kuwait and Bahrain to make appearances at two new Millions of Milkshakes eateries.
A source told gossip website TMZ.com that the reality TV star – who will be travelling with a private security squad – is hoping to learn a lot about the customs, cultures and conflicts in the Middle East during her trip after recently causing controversy over comments she made on twitter.
The insider said: “Kim wants to be as informed as possible so she can use her celebrity to help those in need and raise awareness about important issues in the area.”
Kim has also reportedly set up meetings in both countries with local leaders.
The 32-year-old beauty was forced to apologise to her followers last week after she wrote: “Praying for everyone in Israel” and after instantly attracting backlash, she followed up with a second tweet, saying: “Praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world.”
She later posted a lengthy apology on her official blog on Friday (16 November) in which she said: “I want to own up to and explain that earlier today I sent out two tweets about saying prayers for the people in Palestine and Israel and after hearing from my followers, I decided to take down the tweets because I realised that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologise.”
