His Majesty King Hamad yesterday received HM the King’s Representative for Charity and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Royal Endurance Team Leader Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
They were accompanied by the riders of the Royal Endurance Team who had accomplished a commendable win in the World Endurance Championships for Juniors and Young Riders held recently in Chile.
Rider Fahad Al Khatri achieved first place in the individual category, while the Royal team secured first place in the team category.
HM the King congratulated them on their historic achievement, a new addition to Bahrain’s previous sport accomplishments at the regional and international levels.
HM the King lauded the great efforts exerted by the Royal rides, which reflect the constant development witnessed by the Bahraini endurance sport. He stressed Bahrain’s keenness to uplifting the skills of the national players to accentuate Bahrain’ international standing.
HM the King praised the efforts of Shaikh Nasser in developing endurance sport and upgrading sport talents to achieve leading positions at the regional and global levels. He also commended Shaikh Khalid’s contributions to promote the Bahraini sports to higher levels.
HM the King also received Bahraini swimmer Alzein Tarek Juma on the occasion of her participation in the 2015 World Aquatics Championships held recently in Kazan, Russia.
HM the King took pride in the efforts of the Bahraini swimmer, as the youngest swimmer to participate in an event of such a level, which embodied the honorable image and high reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishing her success in future events.
The father of Alzein thanked HM the King for receiving and encouraging her to continue exerting efforts to bring more successes.
He expressed appreciation of the support provided by Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid during and after the tournament.
