Manama, Nov9(BNA)Kuwaiti Ambassador Shaikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah has today led his country’s delegation to the Manama meeting on combating the financing of terror(CFT), which got underway. He affirmed his country’s full commitment to the UN Security Council resolutions on combating the sources of terror funding and beefing up control and preventive measures.

“Kuwait is an active international partner in the fight against the scourge of terrorism”, he said, stressing the necessity of cooperating with the international community to confront all threats to regional security and stability.

In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he said that Manama CFT meeting builds on the Paris on combating the sources of terrorist financing.

He stressed the importance of the meeting, which is convened as the region goes through a highly volatile period, stressing the necessity of mustering all regional and international efforts to combat the scourge of terrorism.
“The terrorist groups are perpetrating atrocious crimes against innocent civilians in Iraq and Syria, regardless of their religious or sectarian affiliations”, he said. He commended Bahrain for hosting the Manama meeting on combating the financing of terrorism(CFT), lauding the organisation which ensured the success of the event.
