Manama-May23(BNA)Kuwaiti Ambassador and Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Bahrain Shaikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah hailed the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) which turns thirty-three on Sunday (May25).
He extended congratulations to all Arabian Gulf leaders on the anniversary of the six-member regional organization which was established on May 25, 1981.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on this occasion, he said that the GCC has since developed into a key regional player with much leverage to reckon with in the international community.
He hailed the remarkable march of the GCC since its inception thirty-three years ago, making the development of human resources as its raison d’etre, most ultimate goal and driving engine.
The Kuwaiti diplomat cited the wide-ranging remarkable and tangible achievements, which span all sectors to include the economy, environment, media and security, also citing the GCC common market, joint foreign policies which yielded strategic dialogues and growing economic relations with other countries and regional groups.
