Kuwaiti drivers do well at Bahrain drag race

(with photo) MANAMA, Nov 2 (KUNA) — Kuwaiti drivers performed well at the Bahrain National Drag Racing Championship held at Bahrain International Circuit, dominating several of its categories.
Emad Jassem won the ‘Superstreet 8 cylinder’, with his compatriot Abdullah Al-Swairi taking the ‘10.5w outlaw’ race which also saw Hussain Al-Shemmiri coming third.
Meanwhile, Mishaal Al-Saber came second in the ‘Pro Bike’ event which also saw Mohammad Bu-Rashed coming third.
In the ‘Super Streetbike’ event, Kuwaitis Abdullah Al-Najdi and Yaqoob Al-Ali came first and third respectively. A similar feat was achieved at the ‘Streetbike’ event, which saw Misfer Al-Misfer and Mohammad Bu-Rashed also coming in the first and third positions.
Speaking to KUNA after the events, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Quarter Mile Auto and Motorcycle Club, Sheikh Ali Al-Fawaz Al-Sabah lauded the performances of the Kuwaiti participants, affirming that their hard work and dedication had paid off.
Sheikh Ali called on Kuwaiti drivers to continue their good performance in the remaining rounds of the drag race championship.
The event, organized for the 10th consecutive season by Bahrain Drag Racing Club (BDRC), which operates under the umbrella of the Bahrain Motor Federation, in collaboration with Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), is considered one of the most competitive tournaments in the region.
