Labour Minister introduces Bahrain’s labour achievements and gains

Geneva, Jun 7 (BNA) – Bahrain’s Permanent Mission in Geneva, in the presence of Labour Minister, Jameel Humaidan, on Thursday, held a forum attended by Ambassadors of Member States accredited to UN Office in Geneva, on the sidelines of the 103rd Session of the International Labour Conference.


The Forum aimed to inform all participants on all developments related to the human rights file in Bahrain, in preparation for Bahraini participation in the next session of reviewing Bahrain’s universal periodic report in the field of human rights.

Labour Minister and Head of Bahrain’s Permanent Mission reviewed labour achievements and gains have been witnessed by Bahrain in line with the directives of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the successful policies adopted by Bahrain’s government led by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the support delivered by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and First Deputy Premier.

They noted Bahraini initiatives to develop labour legislations, the fight against discrimination in work environment, protection and support provided for national and expatriate manpower, as well as the world welcome to Bahrain’s success in overcoming the labor market challenges, which have become an example to follow in respect of labour rights.
