Manama, Aug 23 (BNA): A level 2 course of the National Coaching Programme, organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Sports Training and Development Centre, got underway recently with 32 coaches taking part.
The participants include coaches from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, representing the following disciplines: football, basketball, athletics, swimming, gymnastics, volleyball, handball and physical fitness.
Modern teaching theory based on education interaction is being presented by a team of highly-qualified instructors during the course, being organsied in cooperation with the Coaching Association of Canada.
The course focuses on training, physical preparation, mental skills, a sport without drugs and sports ethics. All participants will undergo final exams at the end of the course.
Meanwhile, the Sports Training and Development Centre held its first assembly for 12 coaches taking part in the level 4 course of the National Coaching Programme to discuss the annual plan.
The committee overseeing the programme includes Sports Training and Development Centre director Nabeel Taha, D Hussain Jaffer and training specialist Mahmood Yateem.
It is worth noting that the main objective of the National Coaching Programme is to qualify and develop sports officials of different sports organisations inside and outside Bahrain.
