Lewis Hamilton has revealed how he intends to tackle the Shanghai International Circuit and claim his third consecutive victory.
Never before in Hamilton’s seven-year Formula One career has he won three races on the bounce, but after victories in Malaysia and Bahrain, the Briton arrives at this weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix as the bookmakers’ favourite to do just that.
Hamilton, who enjoyed a hero’s welcome on his arrival at Shanghai Airport on Wednesday, has enjoyed varying success in China – blowing his chances of winning the title in his maiden season after running into the gravel on his entrance to the pits in 2007 – before bouncing back a year later to win in 2008 and again in 2011.

And ahead of this weekend’s grand prix, Hamilton took to the Mercedes simulator to describe a lap of the Hermann Tilke designed race track.
The circuit, which plays host to the fourth round of this year’s championship, accommodates the longest straight on the calendar which is the equivalent of 11 football pitches and also tackled at speeds in excess of 200mph.
Hamilton arrives in China buoyed by his victory ahead of Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
And the 2008 world champion believes he holds the psychological edge over the German, who he trails in the drivers’ standings by 11 points.

‘You are always trying to get that edge,’ Hamilton said. ‘It’s not just about arriving and working hard, it’s about all the steps from now until the next race, all the decisions you make, the things in your life. They all add up as to where you are mentally.’
After losing out to Hamilton in Bahrain, Rosberg vowed to return to the top step of the rostrum in China.
But Hamilton insists he is doing all he can outside of the cockpit to ensure he finishes on top in the fascinating intra-team battle.
‘He’s already said he’s going for it at the next race, so I have to make sure the work goes in,’ added Hamilton.
‘I’m still 11 points behind after two awesome races, so I have to stick at it because he’s had a win and two seconds, a track record that so far is better than mine.’

I would love to have a go in a real world F1 simulator, I am surprised at how bad the graphics are though considering gran turismo on my PS3 looks better than that!

How is it thrilling when Lewis has the winning car, yet boring when it is Sebastian. Let’s see some racing this is so boring. Last years we had a different winner each race for the first 7 and it was great.

So geared up for this weekends race despite being stuck with only the highlights. I hope we have a Mercedes one/two with our boy Lewis on the top step. Sorry Nico but English fans have to back our English driver. Be great to see some more nail biting racing but maybe not as close as last time please otherwise I’ll have no nails left to bite. Good luck to every one for what will hopefully be another memorable race, especially with a track designed with a good overtaking stretch

There are only two contenders for the F1 world championship this year and they are both in the same team….the team with the fastest car by a mile….what a thrilling year its going to be, even more boring than usual.

Start of article by JOHNATHAN McEVOY which is still on this site right now: ………………….. I recently predicted that Lewis Hamilton would win the world championship if he kept his head. That is to say if he did not react to Nico Rosberg’s superior technical ability or fail to engage his brain cells in the fierce heat of battle. I revise that judgment after spending some time with Rosberg this week. Here is a man whose total focus is overwhelming. My verdict now is that Rosberg will triumph. JOHNATHAN McEVOY WHERE ARE YOU NOW?
