I WAS wondering whether any GDN readers might be able to help me. I used to live in Bahrain a few years ago before moving back to Britain. I’m planning to return to Bahrain, but I have a question about my driving licence.
When I lived in Bahrain, I passed the driving test (after a long wait) and got my Bahrain licence. However, it has run out (it expired in 2007, after I left). I’m British and I don’t have a British licence.
From reading the GDN online, it seems that the hassle of getting your licence has got even worse. Does anyone know whether, once my visa and CPR is processed, I can take my old, expired Bahrain licence to the Traffic Directorate and get a new one? Or do I have to go through the lessons and test all over again? (I’m 35 by the way).
If anyone could reply via the letters page or to chrispeterson463@yahoo.com, I’d be much obliged.
Chris
