MANAMA: Bahrain’s strong financial infrastructure is the backbone of the national economy and has put the country on the world map as a pivotal centre. ‘The financial and banking sector is a source of pride for the country,’ His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said yesterday.

Receiving Central Bank of Bahrain governor Rasheed Al Maraj, he hailed the role of the sector in transforming Bahrain into a financial and banking hub in the region.

Mr Al Maraj conveyed to the Premier greetings from Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance for patronising the graduation of the 10th batch of MBA students.

The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance is running the MBA academic programme in co-operation with the US DePaul University.

The Premier extended congratulations to BIBF graduates and staff and hailed their efforts to form highly-skilled expertise to further develop the financial and banking sectors.

Mr Al Maraj paid tribute to The Premier, hailing his keen interest in developing banking and financial human resources.

‘HRH the Premier spares no effort to invest in human resources and arm them with modern knowledge to strengthen development,’ he said.
