MANAMA: Bahrain yesterday vowed to track down every perpetrator and mastermind of the deadly terror blast which targeted policemen in East Eker. At its weekly meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, the Cabinet vowed to hunt down the killers and bring them to justice.

Chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the session strongly condemned the terror bombing which claimed the life of a policeman and left another in a critical condition in East Eker.

It extended heartfelt condolences to martyr of duty Imran Ahmed’s family, wishing his injured colleague quick recovery.

In another development involving terrorism, the Cabinet condemned the heinous terror blast which rocked Al Ashrafiya district in Beirut.

It affirmed Bahrain’s stance, rejecting all forms of terror intended to destablise Lebanon and subvert its security. It also called on Lebanese parties to confront challenges and threats to their country’s security and preserve their national unity.

At his majlis, HRH the Premier also vowed to spare no effort to protect Bahrain’s security and stability and preserve its hard-won achievements. “We will not let the spate of violence and terror continue damaging national interests and projecting Bahrain to the world as a hotbed of unrest,” he said.

He was speaking as he received senior officials, in the presence of Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs President Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa.

Parliament chairman Khalifa Al Dhahrani, Shura Council president Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, MPs and Shura members attended.

“Bahrain’s people are unanimous in rejecting acts of sabotage targeting national prosperity,” the Premier said.

He asserted that this campaign of violence had to stop, adding that Bahrain has all the necessary legal measures to achieve this goal. He urged all parties to join ranks and confront the “criminal hands” of destruction and sabotage.

He stressed the need to bridge gaps and block loopholes through which foreign agendas can infiltrate. “Some parties are preying on Bahrain’s stability, seeking to sow chaos and enfeeble the country to be at the mercy of others,” he said, urging people to unite so as to foil plots and defeat agendas.

He also urged all GCC states to join hands to contain any detrimental developments, and thwart plots for the six-nation bloc to be protected.
