LULU Hypermarket has channelled the Eid Spirit of Giving to support breast cancer awareness in Bahrain as part of its community programme.
Besides decorating the supermarkets and Ramli Mall with the iconic Think Pink ribbon and pink balloon arches, it also organised an awareness drive in partnership with Royal Bahrain Hospital.
A medical team from the hospital was present at Ramli Mall to clear doubts about breast cancer and give advice on prevention and lifestyle guidance.
The four LuLu hypermarkets in Riffa, Hidd, Ramli Mall in A’ali and Dana Mall also distributed leaflets on breast cancer awareness.
The hypermarket also arranged a laughter yoga session for more than 60 participants with Bahrain’s only certified laughter yoga instructor K M Thomas.
There were fun raffle prizes and pink ribbon badges were distributed to visitors.
In the evening, the Think Pink campaign was included in the radio roadshow to take the message of good health to all of Bahrain.
“Lulu Hypermarket believes strongly in supporting initiatives that will lead to better health and quality of life for the community and the Think Pink breast cancer awareness campaign is a very important message to send to everybody,” said regional director Juzer Rupawala.
“Early detection dramatically improves chances of survival and quality of life and we wanted to take this message across through lectures, leaflets and a laughter yoga session to de-stress participants. This Think Pink campaign is part of our ongoing Good Health activities which include a Ramli Mallwalk every Saturday and regular free health checks and blood donation drives.
