Mamnoon for promoting ties with Qatar, Bahrain

islamabad – President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Pakistan wants to promote its bilateral relations with Qatar and Bahrain in various fields.
This he said while talking to Sheikh Falah Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani, brother of Ex-Prime Minister of Qatar, and Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Bahrain Javed Malik who separately called on him yesterday. He said that bilateral relations with Qatar are marked by brotherhood and a high degree of mutual trust. The President urged for the unity of Muslim Ummah to surmount the challenges being faced by the Muslims across the world.
The President said that Pakistan is an investment friendly country with very lucrative incentives for investment as Pakistan gives high returns on capital and cheap labour is available in abundance.
The President highlighted that Pakistan has a liberal foreign exchange regime and there is no limit on the inflow or outflow of funds for business transactions. The President hoped that Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) would invest in various sectors of Pakistan particularly energy, infrastructure, and agriculture. The President appreciated Qatar’s valuable support for early conclusion of Pak-GCC Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as early conclusion of Pak-GCC FTA would further strengthen economic and trade ties between Pakistan and the GCC countries.
The President noted that Pakistani diaspora in Qatar is a strong bridge between the two countries adding that Pakistan is looking for an expansion in its designated quota for Pakistani manpower both skilled and unskilled for 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The President wished the delegation a fruitful and enjoyable stay in Pakistan. Separately talking to Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Bahrain Javed Malik today, President Mamnoon Hussain said that Pakistan and Bahrain enjoy close and fraternal relations which are rooted in common faith, culture and history.
The President said Pakistan wishes to enhance its relations with Bahrain in all fields of mutual interest including defence.    He emphasized that new vistas and avenues be explored to further enhance the bilateral trade for mutual benefit of two countries.
Mamnoon Hussain said asked the ambassador-designate him to make maximum efforts to conclude Pakistan-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
