MANAMA: His King Hamad received at Safriya Palace last night British Ambassador Iain Lindsay.

They discussed the outcome of the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier to the UK as well as his key meetings with senior British officials.

His Majesty hailed the Crown Prince’s constant efforts to consolidate Bahrain’s relations with its allies.

He reviewed with the envoy historic bilateral ties and affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen relations.

He lauded the steadily growing co-operation, extending greetings to British
Prime Minister David Cameron.

He commended Mr Lindsay’s efforts to promote joint action.

The meeting also highlighted regional issues, stressing particularly the current situation in Syria.

In this regard, His Majesty called for reaching a political solution to stop the bloodshed and achieve stability for Syria and its people.

Meanwhile, Mr Lindsay briefed the King on results of the recently held G8 meeting.
