Work has started on more sections of the $2.5 billion Bahrain Bay development in Manama.
Gulf Daily News reported that the ten-year-old project will see a number of projects completed in 2016, following the opening of the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay in March this year.
The 47-storey United Tower, a twisting tower development from real estate developer Investment House, is expected to open by mid-2016 and will include the five-star Wyndham Grand Manama Hotel.
Current projects underway include Bin Faqeeh Real Estate Investment Company’s 15,000 square metre “Water Bay” project, which includes three blocks of flats, and the twin-towered WAFRA residential project.
A new Marriot hotel project is expected to start in 2016, as well as AXA’s new regional headquarters and the 290,000 square metre “Bay City” development, according to the report.
“We’re delighted with the current pace of development at Bahrain Bay,” Bahrain Bay development chief executive Gagan Suri said.
“We’re happy to say that most projects are being developed ahead of the planned schedule – 2016 looks to be an exciting year for us as we see many investors complete their developments and others begin construction.”
