Massa rues bad luck

Felipe Massa admits he has been frustrated by the start that he has made to his Williams career but believes he can turn things around.

Massa finished seventh in both Malaysia and Bahrain but missed out on points in Australia and China through no fault of his own.

An accident put paid to his chances in Australia, while a poor pit stop proved costly in last weekend’s race at the Shanghai International Circuit and the Brazilian believes his good performances have been overshadowed by the mishaps.

“I feel I’ve started well, in terms of pace and in terms of everything, but I was not lucky,” he said. “What happened in the first race was nothing to do with me, what happened in the last race was something in the pit stop and in Bahrain I was fighting for third and fourth, and after the safety car I was eighth,” Massa explained.

“There are so many points that I lost, not because I was not able to get them, but because I was unlucky. For sure I’m frustrated for what has happened at so many races up to now, but I hope we don’t see that anymore and I hope we have consistent races from now on.”
