MANAMA — Mercury Mena and Ritz Carlton prevailed over their rivals in the Mercury Mena Bahrain Squash League 2014, conducted in collaboration with the Bahrain Badminton Squash Federation and supported by Power Horse at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium here.

Mercury Mena defeated Batelco Club in the first encounter. Shahid Hussain of Mercury Mena defeated Yaser Al Aali of Batelco Club 11-5, 11-1, 11-5. Adnan Ehsan scored the second victory for Mercury Mena by beating Mohammed Al Nashaba of Batelco Club 14-12, 9-11, 11-6, 11-6. Ali Ebrahim of Mercury Mena obtained a walk-over in the last match against Batelco Club.

Ritz Carlton got the better of Marina Club in the second match. Ritz Carlton’s Asad Ali downed Marina Club player Younis Rahmi 11-5, 11-3, 11-3. Ritz Carlton made it 2-0 when Ryan Gelderbloem defeated Marina Club’s Waseem Mohammed 11-7, 12-10, 11-4.

The third match fell through as Ritz Carlton’s Phil Darby got a walk-over from Marina Club.
