Middle East mission – Kardashian style

Having unwittingly walked into the minefield that is Middle East politics earlier this month, reality TV star Kim Kardashian is now on a whirlwind tour of Kuwait and Bahrain.

She is said to be hoping to pick up a bit of a political education to avoid putting her foot in it again, as well as to put in celebrity appearances at new branches of the Millions of Milkshakes chain opening up in the Gulf states.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star flashed a peace sign as she disembarked from her flight at Kuwait’s airport.

Celebrity site TMZ.com quoted a source close to Kim as saying: “Kim wants to be as informed as possible so she can use her celebrity to help those in need and raise awareness about important issues in the area.”

This follows the furore which arose after the TV socialite tweeted about the situation in Gaza and Israel.

After her original message of “Praying for everyone in Israel” caused so much offence on twitter, Kardashian added another saying: “Praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world.”

When the backlash continued, Kardashian was forced to take both tweets down and issue an apology for any offence or hurt caused.

During her visit to Kuwait the reality star took the time out to visit the American Ambassador to the country.
