Minh, Trang down in world rankings

HA NOI  (VNS) — Top Vietnamese badminton players, Nguyen Tien Minh and Vu Thi Trang dropped in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Rankings released on October 29.

Minh dropped one spot from 41 to 42 while Trang fell to 56th position from 53rd.

Neither player attended any international tournaments this week, affecting their ranking.

Next week, Minh, Trang and Pham Cao Cuong will compete in the Bahrain International Challenge 2015 held in Shaikh Khalifa, Bahrain from November 3-7.

According to the draw, the world No 42 Minh will face a player who advanced from the qualification round.

His teammate, Pham Cao Cuong, will play No 4 seed Zi Liang Derek Wong of Singapore.

On the women’s side, Trang will compete against a qualifying player in the first match of the singles category. — VNS
