Minister Al Bulooshi Chairs Bahrain’s Delegation to the (32) Session for Arab …

Cairo, December 4th (BNA) –Minister of Social Development, Fatima Bint Mohammed Al Bulooshi chaired Bahrain’s delegation participating in the (32) session for the Arab Social Affairs Ministers’ Council in Cairo this morning.
The agenda of the session included many important social issues, namely:
– Preparation for the third Arab economic and social development summit to be held in Riyadh January 2013.
– Preparation for the (24) regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the
level of Arab States, where they will discuss “following up the implementation of the session’s
decisions (23) for the Arab summit.”
– The most important issues they discussed were, the establishment of a unit for social
policies, poverty reduction, in addition to the common theme of the third meeting of Ministers
of Development and Social Affairs in the Arab countries and the countries of Southern Africa
(Beirut 2013), in addition to the special issue concerned with supporting social projects.

During the meeting, they will discuss the cooperation between the economic and social committee for Western Asia (ESCWA) on the organization of the regional conference on social protection as it is a component of development as well as coordination with the (ESCWA) for the application of the participatory approach in general policies processes in the Arab countries.

The meeting addressed the projects and programmes of the council for the year 2013, and will also discuss issues concerned with family and childhood.
