Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs receives UAE Ambassador

Manama, Jan. 14. (BNA)– Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs Dr. AbdulHussain bin Ali Mirza received here today UAE Ambassador to Bahrain Mohammed bin Sultan Al Sweidi.

The Minister praised the deep-rooted bilateral relations promoted by joint cooperation in all fields, specially electricity, water and renewable energy, and hailed the rapid growth of bilateral cooperation.

The UAE Ambassador conveyed to the Minister an invitation from UAE Minister of Energy Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei to participate in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2014(ADSW), organised by Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company (Masdar) on January 20-22, 2014.

ADSW includes a series of events: the fourth assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency; the seventh World Future Energy Summit; the second International Water Summit; the first EcoWaste exhibition; and the sixth Zayed Future Energy Prize Awards Ceremony. Various meetings in the field of renewable energy will be held on the sidelines of the events like the meeting of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

The Minister welcomed the invitation and affirmed Bahrain’s participation with a delegation headed by him, given the event’s local, regional and international importance, as more than 80 countries from around the world take part, which, he said, will provide an opportunity to exchange experience in the field of electricity, water and renewable energy.

The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the constant cooperation he receives from the Minister and the officials in the Electricity and Water Authority, adding that he is looking forward to Bahrain’s participation in ADSW 2014.
