Minister of Foreign Affairs conducts official talks with Qatari Government

Doha: Feb. 25 –- (BNA)– Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, was received by His Highness the Emir, the Crown Prince and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly State of Qatar. The Foreign Minister’s visit culminated in several outcomes the most important of which was the the signing of a framework agreement between the two brotherly countries regarding the State of Qatar’s contribution into the Gulf Development Program.

HE Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed warm greetings and sincere wishes of the Bahraini royal family to their brothers the Emir, the Crown Prince and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and their wishes of continued prosperity for the people of Qatar.

This came during a meeting with His Highness the Emir of Qatar Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani who praised the excellent brotherly relations between the two countries and peoples, as well as the joint cooperation for the progress and development of the two countries at all levels.

During the interview, His Excellency the Minister for Foreign expressed his pride of the Bahraini-Qatari feelings, noting the growing development of relations in light of the attention given to strengthen these ties by both His Majesty the King and His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, reflecting the desire of both countries to push these relations towards wider horizons of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Crown Prince of Qatar is the current heir apparent to the throne of the State of Qatar also received HE Foreign Minister where he conveyed the greetings of the government of Bahrain and their sincere wishes to the Qatar and its people.

The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and ways to open new horizons for cooperation and coordination in various fields in addition to discussing the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.

As part of the visit HE Foreign Minister also met with H.E. the Chairman of the Qatari Shura Council Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khlaifi.

In the framework of the official visit the accompanying delegation met with the Honorary Treasurer cum chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce (QCCI), Mr. Ali bin Abdullatif Al-Misnad; and, also met with members of the chamber accentuting the need to conduct more visits to find ways and means to further cooperation.

The delegation also met with the chairman of Qatari Businessmen Association Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani who welcomed Bahraini investments in Qatar and showed full readiness for any support needed by the Bahraini business.

A meeting between the delegation and members of Qatar Holding also took place to reach new ideas in developing business between the two sides.

The Bahraini delegation paid a visit to Qatari Diyar and Qatar Development Bank and was briefed on the Qatari example of development.
Undersecretary of Regional GCC Affairs H.E Ambassador Hamad Ahmed Al-Amer met with the undersecretary of the Ministry of Business and Trade of Qatar where the two parties agreed on initializing communications to form a working group to find the best ways of cooperation and investment between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Qatar.
