Minister of State for Information: Bahrain welcomes journalists and reporters …

Manama-Dec18(BNA)The Minister of State for Information and Government spokesperson stated that the Kingdom of Bahrain, like many countries in the world, has laws and regulations governing visits of journalists and media delegations to the country by applying for a visa in advance.

She stated, as an example, that the United States of America does not allow entry to any journalist without a visa applied for in advance, as not any journalist can acquire a visa.

With regards to some foreign journalists circuiting information that they have been prevented entry to Bahrain, the Minister confirmed that this accusation is incorrect and is meant to harm Bahrain.

She provided information showing that Bahrain has allowed many journalists and reporters to enter its territory within the known laws and regulations.

The Kingdom welcomes all journalists who exercise fair and objective criticism regarding the situation in Bahrain. Her Excellency showed that many journalists have acquired visas more than once including journalists of the New York Times.

She calls for those who wish to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain to follow proper procedures and regulations and to respect the Kingdom in its decisions as it would any other country in the world.
