Islamabad: Progress on the initiative for establishment of a state-of-the-art medical university in Islamabad was jointly reviewed here on Tuesday during a meeting between Kingdom of Bahrain Ambassador Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed Abdulqadir and Minister of State for Health Saira Afzal. It was agreed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard would soon be signed between the two governments.
The discussion took place when the Bahraini envoy called on the minister of state for health. Pak-Bahrain collaboration in the health sector was thoroughly discussed.
Recalling the king of Bahrain’s visit to Pakistan and his generous offer of building a medical university in Islamabad, Saira expressed that the collaborative initiative will provide for top-quality human resource in the field of medicine and contribute significantly in improving the quality of health services in Pakistan. She also apprised the ambassador about the Prime Minister’s National Health Programme for provision of quality health services to the poor.
