Muslim Ali claims Showjumping Grand Prix

Manama, Feb28(BNA) Muslim Ali claimed the Grand Prix title in the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Showjumping Championship held yesterday under the patronage of BREEF President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, and held at the Military Sports Association Field in Al Raffah.

The event was sponsored by Ezz Al Khail. BREEF Showjumping Committee Chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa presented the prizes to the winners after the end of the competitions.

Ali claimed the Grand Prix title on the day, winning the competition for barriers height 120-130 cm, with the speed of the course set for 350meters/minute. He completed the course riding his horse Pascal without faults in a total time of 55.92 seconds.

Ali was followed by Ahmed Mansoor who came second riding his horse Edward Du Sud in a total time of 53.08 seconds with eight faults, while Sami Ghazwan came third riding his horse Fairooz in a total time of 46.94 seconds with 12 faults.

In the Juniors Level One category, Ali Al Yabis claimed first place in the competition with barriers height 85-95 cm with a speed of 300 meters/minute. He completed the course riding his horse Ajzal in a total time of 29.14 seconds.

In second place was Kate Addison riding her horse The Chief in a total time of 31.29 seconds, while third place went to Aimee Keen riding her horse DJ Fleur in a total time of 31.54 seconds.

In the Juniors Level Two category, Mayoof Al Rumaihi claimed the competition for barriers height 85-95cm and the speed of the course set for 300 meters/minute. He was riding his horse Granus andh he completed the course in a total time of 28.55 seconds.

Ahmed Essa riding his horse Osina came second and he completed the course in a total time of 31.46 seconds, while Fahad Hilal Al Khatri came third riding his horse Venous in a total time of 33.67 seconds.

In the Adults Level One category, Ali Abdulrasool Ashoor claimed first place prize for this competition for barriers height 85-95cm and the speed of the course set for 350 meters/minute. He completed the course in a total time of 40.76 seconds riding his horse Horse Pride Chilli.

Mohammed Jassim came second riding his horse Al Yabes as he completed the course in a total time of 41.44 seconds. Mohammed Jassim came third riding another horse Alaska, as he completed the course in a total time of 41.59 seconds.

Ali Abdulrasool claimed the common category for both juniors and adults with barriers height 95-110cm and a speed of the course set for 300 meters/minute for juniors and 350 meters/minutes for adults. Abdulrasool was riding his horse Horse Pride Chilli in a total time of 29.74 seconds.

Second place went to Mohammed Jassim riding his horse Alaska in a total time of 30.12 seconds, while third place was claimed by Basel Al Dossary riding his horse Dilmun Dory in a total time of 31.03 seconds.

In the Adults Level Three for barriers height of 110-120cm and the speed of the course set for 350 meters/minute, Muslim Ali came first riding his horse Pascal in a total time of 59.31 seconds.


Basel Al Dossary came second riding his horse Dilmun Airforce One in a total time of 62.12 seconds, while third place was Ahmed Mansour riding his horse Edward Du Sud in a total time of 66.69 seconds. The BREEF also held a cowboy show after the end of all the competitions.
