DUBAI: Dubai’s rally star Khalifa Al Mutaiwei, who won the 2012 FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies as part of the Fazza Rally Team, has announced that he is providing 150 tickets for fans of the UAE national football team to go to Bahrain to support the team in their Group A clash against Oman in the Gulf Cup of Nations on Friday.
The match starts at 6.45pm at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium, Isa Town, Bahrain, at the same time as the second Group A match between hosts Bahrain and Qatar.
UAE have already reached the semi-finals along with Iraq. Bahrain, Oman and Qatar will fight it out for the second semis spot from Group A.
“I am pleased to provide this number of tickets to fans of our national team,” enthused the 2004 and 2012 FIA World Cup champion.
“It is the least I can do for my beloved country. There are a lot of fans who would like to encourage and support our team and this gesture enables them to travel to the stadium for the game in Bahrain.
