Nasser 7 Football Championship Concludes

Manama, July22 (BNA) Following the great success witnessed by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Seventh Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 7), the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa instructed to include more sports games in the next version of the championship.

This was announced during HH Shaikh Nasser’s meeting with representatives of the sponsoring companies on Tuesday.HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa directed to conduct the necessary studies to make the championship an opportunity for new talents in various sports.
In the meeting, SCYS Chairman appreciated the support granted by the sponsoring parties, which included establishments of the public and private sectors.Sponsors included Al Sahrif Group, Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo, Fast Link, Behbehani and Brothers, Bahrain Jewelry Centre, Bapco, Batelco, GPIC, Menatelecom, Al Kharafi Global, Intercol, Al Murjan Real Estate, Information Affairs Authority, Goal playgrounds, Mondial Car Showroom, Nass Establishment, Palace Enterprises, Techno Gym and AMA Sports.
HH Shaikh Nasser also commended the supporting stances of Interior and Health ministries, BOC, General Oragnisation for Youth and Sport (GOYS), Bahrain Football Association (BFA), Public Security Officers Club and Bahrain Defence Force Royal Medical Services.
HH Shaikh Nasser awarded Nasser 7 champions, Victorious team players, who won the final match against Al Nawayef 1-0 on Monday. The team won Nasser 3 title in 2009.HH Shaikh Nasser also awarded the second place winners, Al Nawyef team players, in addition to the best player, which was bagged by Victorious attacker Talal Yousif, best goalkeeper award that went to Al Nawayef goalie Dhafer Mohammed.
Local newspapers were honoured by HH Shaikh Nasser for their exceptional coverage of the championship. Awardees included Akhbar Al Khaleej, Al Ayam, Al Wasat, Al Watan, Al Bilad and Gulf Daily News.SCYS Chairman also awarded the international refereeing crew that refereed the final match. He also hounoured all the 16 participating teams in the championship.
Several players appreciated the exceptional idea of organising a match between former football champions of the GCC countries and Bahrain football legends. They said it added an entertaining atmosphere to the stressful final match.
Nasser 7 Champions Victorious donated their cash prize of BD8000 to the distressed people of Gaza Strip in Palestine, expressing their sympathy and support to the Palestinian brothers and sisters, who are under the Israeli fire.
