National volleyball teams ready, set to compete abroad

Manama, July 5 (BNA): The Bahraini Volleyball Association is readying to compete in several championships abroad within the next few months at the Gulf, Arab and Continental levels.

The premier team led by its Argentinian coach Al Qita will participate in the Eighty Asian Championship in Iran, in the period July 29 to August 6. Bahrain is in the fourth group with China, Japan and Sri Lanka.

Following the Asian tournament, Bahrain will also participate in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)’s Championship in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (October 2015). Bahrain’s national volleyball team is set to retain its Golden Medallion from the first edition hosted by Bahrain in 2011.
