Business and financial advisers Grant Thornton have made a new addition to their corporate finance team in the South West.

Nic Ross joins the firm from Royal Bank of Scotland in Reading, where he was an associate director in the structured finance team.

Prior to this, Nic spent over two years working in Bahrain, initially at the Bahrain Financial Exchange and then with BFC Group Holdings, a wholesale banknote trading and remittance group.

A graduate in molecular biology from the University of Manchester, Nic is also a qualified barrister, having been called to the Bar by Inner Temple in 2005.

He began his career at RBS in London, as a manager in the Global Banking and Markets division.

Mark Naughton, corporate finance director at Grant Thornton in the South West, comments:“We are now seeing a marked pick-up in deals activity and are currently advising on a number of large transactions in the region.

“Nic brings real insight into the debt market and this will be invaluable to clients who are looking to raise finance as the economy emerges into full recovery.”
