Manama, Feb10 (BNA)The National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR) has today signed a key memorandum of understanding with Bahrain Youth Society (BYS).

NIHR Secretary-General Dr. Abdulla Ahmed Farhan sealed the deal with BYS Chairman Ali Sharafi.

Under the agreement, the two sides pledged to step up cooperation, exchange expertise, visits, database and statistics and hold joint workshops, training courses and conferences relating to human rights.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding stems from the desire of the watchdog to disseminate the culture of human rights and consolidate cooperation with national, regional and international organisations as well as human rights foundations. NIHR Communication Director Nawar Abdulla Al-Mutawa and BYS board members attended the signing ceremony.
