Manama, Jan. 30. (BNA) – Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul received here today the Deputy Chief of US Mission to Bahrain Timothy Pounds.

Dr. Abul reviewed with Mr. Timothy Pounds the role played by the NIHR in consolidating and protecting human rights, as well as promoting their culture.

The meeting also touched upon the human rights situation in the kingdom and the NIHR’s ways of dealing with it.

The Deputy Chief of US Mission to Bahrain lauded the role played by the NIHR in consolidating and protecting human rights in the kingdom.

NIHR’s Deputy Chairman Abdulla Ahmed Al-Derazi and Secretary-General Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Farhan, as well as the Advisor of Political and Economic Affairs at the US Embassy Stephanie Hallett, attended.
